2014 — Felix & Foam / Collaborate, Felix Meritis, Amsterdam (NL)
POINT OF VIEW was developed during a month-long residency organized by Foam at Felix Meritis in Amsterdam. Invited as part of Felix & Foam, Polly’s Picture Show used the space first as a studio and workspace, and later transformed it into an exhibition environment, allowing visitors to follow the development of the project over time.
The installation explored the boundaries of photography by using the architecture of Felix Meritis as both framework and limitation. The four walls of the space functioned as the fixed edges of the installation, reflecting the photographic act of defining a frame and a viewpoint.
Within the installation, a specific position was marked from which visitors could view the work as if looking through the lens of a “camera.” As soon as the viewer shifted position, the image changed and the constructed perspective of the installation became visible.
